watching lions

Flown to the other side of the world, across the sea,
stolen from the savannah, through  thunder...
Sitting under the opposite end of the bend in the sky
My shoulders catch the warm sun.
Not hotter than Africa hot, but still Burning...
Wishing for an indian summer around this bay
my dreamy thoughts make weaver bird nests
I try to re-swallow - what I once ate with my pair of almond eyes
the widening was found
in powder blue gulu skies billowing towards the blind,
outside joy opened
in the white sheet, ripe body scented, cinema...
I could watch a lion for days... purr and roar
again, again
again
warm hearts in pitch dark
Laying side by side in static cling, renaissance dawned
In a natural market, not bottled or sold,
In our walk through the grace..sunlit, diffused, red dust,
mosquito bites, and beaded~sweet fresh juices-
from foreign sticky fruit, dripping, down
strangers hands no longer strange
held and then released...that which I once tasted
surrounded by tall prickling speargrass
I again re-swallow,
gulping down
the widening there found..the ripest..
yonder is within-
reach
there...
into joy
awake,
a world, and worlds fed through almond eyes, each is with~in,
closer~just a heartbeat away, I could watch lions for days
again, again,
again the lions...
together governing the same end in the bend of the sky
